Instead of praise, Jürgen Klopp is currently being heavily criticized. Manchester United icon Roy Keane is fed up with the world coach’s statements.
Roy Keane has had enough.
In his role as a TV pundit for the Premier League, the long-time Manchester United captain has been fiercely critical of Jürgen Klopp. The former Manchester United captain disliked the Liverpool coach’s statements after the 4-1 home defeat to Manchester City. “It just follows excuse after excuse, and it goes on and on,” Keane pilloried the former BVB coach. Klopp justifies Alisson slip-up with “cold feet”
Earlier, Klopp had justified two hair-raising goalkeeping errors by Liverpool keeper Alisson by saying that the Brazilian may have had cold feet and his team had thus gifted the Citizens two goals. Even before the clash, the former BVB coach had also claimed that Pep Guardiola’s team had been at a clear advantage recently, as Manchester City had had significantly more recovery time due to a postponed competitive match at the end of December.
For Keane, all these statements are unworthy of a Premier League champion. Especially since Manchester City were also missing two important players in Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Agüero, while Klopp’s eleven had their best offensive players on the field. However, Keane ignored the fact that Liverpool’s defensive personnel has been on a tear for months. (Read the game in the ticker)
Keane: “They are bad champions”
Keane was clear about the Reds: “They are bad champions,” the Irishman said, adding: “You are Liverpool FC. If you keep behaving like this, it will be another 30 years before you win another title.”
